The Fit 2 Learn, Fit 4 Life website is a result of collaboration amongst the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE), San Diego County Supervisor Ron Roberts' Office, San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) and school districts from throughout the county.  The goal of the the project is to provide teachers and administrators with resources to support quality physical education that helps students achieve grade level outcomes defined in the California Physical Education Model Content Standards, is aligned to Common Core State Standards and engages students in Moderate to Vigorous Physical Activity (MVPA) at least 50% of physical education class time.

SDCOE recruited exemplary physical education teachers from throughout San Diego County to guide the project.  Elementary, middle and high school teachers came together to design a website that provides resources to guide physical education curriculum, instruction, assessment and physical activity so that students are more likely to: 

• Meet California Physical Education Model Content Standards 
• Engage with physical education content in a manner that prepares students for college and career 
• Provides the opportunity for students to participate in optimal amounts of MVPA
